VITEMA & FEMA Have Partnered to Launch a Community Engagement and Preparedness Initiative; “Tip of the Week”

August 14, 2018

ST. CROIX, VI - There are only fifteen weeks left in the 2018 Hurricane Season! We are predicted to experience an active season; therefore, now is the time to ensure you are prepared. Planning now means you will have better control of your situation, and are able to recover sooner. As we continue to navigate through the remainder of the season, the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other partners will continue to provide preparedness tips and resources regularly.

Prep Tip of the Week

As a community, we must continue to work together to ensure we are prepared. Beginning today Monday, August 13, 2018, VITEMA will partner with FEMA to share a preparedness “Tip of the Week" on the VITEMA and FEMA US Virgin Islands Facebook pages, and on Twitter at ReadyUSVI and FEMARegion2 . We also want to hear from YOU, the citizens! When our Tip of the Week is posted, feel free to respond to our posts and share what you have done to implement our tip. You are also encouraged to share your implementation of the Tip of the Week on your personal page; be sure to tag VITEMA in your posts. Each week, we will select one post to be featured on the VITEMA website. We look forward to hearing from you!
