VITEMA Acting Director, Denise E.H. Lewis and VITEMA’s new Tsunami Program Administrator, Tenisha Riddick traveled to Puerto Rico on March 4-8, 2019. The purpose of the trip was to participate in face-to-face meetings, and to receive presentations from the National Weather Service, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Puerto Rico Seismic Network on the status of the territory’s weather equipment and notification systems.
While on ground, they visited the University of Mayaguez to discuss rejuvenating the Tsunami Preparedness program.
