Governors Bryan and Roselló discussed the ongoing recovery efforts in Puerto Rico and the USVI, and preparedness efforts ahead of the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane season.

Governor Bryan and VITEMA Director Nominee Daryl Jaschen met with FEMA officials to discuss the supply chain logistics process and the requirements for coordination between FEMA and the Virgin Islands government ahead of hurricane season.

Beginning June 2019, the system will undergo a full refurbishment to replace and harden many of the key components damaged by the 2018 storms, Irma and Maria.

The St. Croix offices of VITEMA will be temporarily closed during the hours of 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018. The St. Thomas and St. John offices of VITEMA will be temporarily closed during the hours of 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, December 21, 2018.

Satellite data indicate that a tropical wave located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles is gradually becoming better defined and continues to produce strong gusty winds mainly to the east of the disturbance.
