The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) and the Office of the Territorial ADA Coordinator are co-hosting a Deaf & Hard of Hearing Awareness Training focused on understanding and using Text-to-911.
The training will be held on March 24, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Disability Rights Center of the Virgin Islands (DRCVI) in St. Croix.
This session is designed to educate the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community — as well as family members, caregivers, and community advocates — on how to properly use Text-to-911, when and how to send emergency text messages, and best practices for effective emergency communication. Attendees will also receive updates on local accessibility and emergency preparedness initiatives.
Transportation will be provided upon request.
